At Cultivate, we are often amazed with what can be accomplished when you keep it simple. Recently, Cultivate had one crew member, one brand new Canon 5D, one dolly and some track, and one solitary day to create a video with marketing significance for Quality Color Graphics and their subsidiary Chicago Packaging.
Check out our resulting Fresh Video entitled The Remarkable Experience:

“I think Cultivate captured the essence of what and who we are.”
—John Pack, Executive Vice President at Quality Color Graphics
Cultivate’s Mark Wierda and Quality Color’s John Pack decided that the video needed to reveal the heart of the “yes” culture that their business thrives on. So they got right to the point. The Remarkable Experience beautifully documents a day in progress for Quality Color’s employees—bringing the state of the art warehouse they work in vividly to life. The employees, equipment and facility serve as the visual evidence of the enthusiastic thoughts of John Pack regarding the creation of a business culture that enables Quality Color’s employees to daily deliver, diverse, quality print product to a bevy of satisfied customers.
Perhaps most important, Quality Color has seized the opportunities a video like The Remarkable Experience creates for word of mouth marketing. Internally, it rallies their employees. Externally, it gives Quality Color an invaluable chance to dust off their Rolodex of contacts and create meaningful communication with each and every one of them. The minute The Remarkable Experience was released they went to work spreading the word. The gluttony of feedback they have received from employees, vendors, customers, and even the CEO of the 12,000 member strong organization Printing Industries of America, is nothing short of marketing gold.
“I often complain that printers are the worst communicators…and then I see wonderful pieces like this YouTube video.”
—Michael Makin, CEO at Printing Industries of America
In the end, the video is a great example of what can happen when corporate gets personal. It’s as simple as that.
Here are a few additional customer’s thoughts on The Remarkable Experience:
“This is one of the best corporate videos I’ve ever seen. Fantastic! I wish we had a video 1/2 as good…”
—David, Freeport Press
“Good call with the drifting, slow moves, in contrast with the lock-down shot of your ‘talking head’. I especially liked the subtle depth of field approach. Simplicity and consistency is best.”
—Michael, Art Director/Graphic Designer
“AMAZING John! You guys nailed it – good for you! You are going at a great angle with this, bringing what really matters in business back to the forefront. Working at Dale Carnegie, we are customer relationship “obsessed”. Greg Cox our president always says that price will always matter to the extent that your relationship with your customers does not. Outstanding value proposition and great job on the video!”
—Mary, Dale Carnegie Training
“That was exceptional. You have captured something great in the imagery and the narration that speaks to the “everyman”. The footage is so vibrant and yet gives the viewer a sense of family as well–marrying the professional and the personal.”
—Kristen, Graphic Designer
“This video is beautiful. You describe what you do thoroughly and with passion. Thanks for sharing it with me and I will be passing it along to anyone I know/meet with packaging needs and of course it will also come with a glowing recommendation.:)”
—Anne, Sulpice Chocolate
