It wasn’t until we were up to our eyeballs in clay that we at Cultivate discovered exactly how expansive the polymer clay world really is. And by then it was too late.

Polyform’s previous website had been cobbled together over a period of twelve years, and the site’s organization had understandably been lost as layers of content had been added. After a dozen years of updates, the site was packed with content and impossible to navigate. Something needed to be done.

Polyform and Cultivate joined proverbial hands (theirs had traces of clay under the nails), and together we slogged our way through the dense mound of sludge. Now we’re excited to announce that we’ve officially made it out alive. Perhaps just as importantly, the new Sculpey.com is officially live too.

Polyform’s new website is still packed with information about polymer clay, the nifty tools and accessories that people use to manipulate it, and the projects that are the results of those manipulations. The difference between the two sites and their oodles of content is the way the new site’s content was packed. Sculpey.com now features a massive content management system (CMS).

The admin section of the site allows the Polyform Products staff to associate projects with clay lines, tools, accessories, themes, difficulty levels and much more. This feature allows clay aficionados with, say, Premo! clay to easily find projects that they can create. It also supplies a “shopping list” of, say, tools and additional supplies that they’ll need in order to create a specific project.

The associations, or relationships, between various clay products and projects makes the site easy to navigate and fun to explore. It’s a win-win for everyone: crafters use the projects for inspiration and Polyform uses the projects to promote their products.
